2012

This year I have met a new teacher and using a netbook. I have been making new friends with the year 8 too like Awhina and Aliza. There are new people coming into our new class. I want to work on track and work on task. I think I have been helping new people that is coming into our class, like Tamara.
There are somethings that I don't enjoy like being mean to little kids and being into fights. But stuff i did enjoy was having new friends.

Thursday

Arrived at school and just walked around the corner, and waited for the second bell to ring, so we did. Just then the bell rang. ohh man I don’t want to go class now so me and my friend quickly ran to class. As soon as we went into class it was Quite so I went to go to Ms Squires to go and get me a loan netbook. So I did and then I came back to class and do my work. just then after doing all my work the bell rang for morning tea so i just waited for Ms Squires to let us go to morning tea...

Where I am from...

I was born in Auckland hospital,and raised in Manurewa with my nan. I was living there untilI was 3 yrs old, now I live with my mum and dad in Pt England. This is a poem about where I live now.


Where I am from I see my house where my brothers and sisters play on the swings.
Where I am from I see the park I pass when I come home after school.
Where I am from I see people working on their netbooks when I come into class
Where I am from I smell fast food, burgers and fish and chips
Where I am from I feel the rough bark from trees when I’m climbing on them.
Where I am from I hear seagulls on the sandy beach.
Where I am from I taste McDonalds burgers.

Bush Walk

Walking in the forest with dark spooky trees,with my friends and I. I was frightened while we walked on the path. “ Um do you know where we going?” said Sesalina, “ Yes we do” said Elizabeth. “ Do you know how to get back home in the morning?”, “Yes we do because I could follow our footsteps” said Elizabeth. We walked further so we could find us a spot to sleep on. We found our spot and we put our tent up. While we were putting our tent up we saw a bush move so we looked at it, but it was a hedgehog.


So the next morning we got up and packed our tent and looked for our foot tracks so we could go home. Then suddenly we found the footsteps but they were all thinking that we were going in circles, and then I said “We are going in circles", so they stopped, turned around and went back where we were camping. We couldn't find it so we were LOST!!!!! “OMG how are we gonna go back home?” said Sesalina. We are going to just walk and follow the path. “OK” said Elizabeth. so they all walked straight and followed the path.

It was starting to go dark. So we just sat down and pulled out our sleeping bags and tents. So we slept in the forest again. “ But we don’t have enough food” said Aliza. We will just save us some food till tomorrow.

Sesalina was the first one awake. She woke both of us up and we both got the tents and put them down. We started walking and trying to look for a way out. “ Look I can see something” said Aliza, "Its the road". "Come on we gotta look for a phone box to call the police", so we could get a ride home. so we split up  and looked for a phone box.


Then suddenly I found a phone box, but it was just me that found it. I couldn't the find rest of my friends so I just waited for them.

 

Neil Armstrong......

Armstrong was an American. Born on August 5th,1930 in Wapakoneta, Ohio. Armstrong died on August 25th 2012 at the age of 82 at Cincinnati Ohio. Neil alden Armstrong was an american astronaut and the first person to set foot on the moon. In 1969. Armstrong was a United States navy officer served in the Korean war.

Edwin Eugene Buzz Aldrin Jr was born on January 20th 1930. Aldrin the second man to set foot on the moon. He was in the spaceship with Neil Armstrong. He was also a American astronaut too.

Cross Country Practise

This is my Animation. I hope you like it!!!!

Yahoo!!! We're doing cross country practise. We had to run to Point England Reserve, run to the fence and run back to school. I was coming first and then Lepa ran right past me so I was coming 2nd. I was really tired from running because I was running fast. When we were almost at the reserve Sesalina ran past me. I tried to speed to catch up to her, but she was too fast. Unfortunately I was slowing down. I saw Mele but she ran straight past me too. So then I was coming like 9th or 10th.
When we came back to the street I had a little rest before it was time to go home..

Life Education Trust (Smoking) Elizabeth.

Smoking can cause cancer, it can cause lung cancer which is life threatening. Tar goes on the lungs. it can even cause lung diseases and heart diseases. Cigarettes have over 4000 chemicals but they have three main ingredients, Carbon Monoxide, tar, nicotine. Nicotine is a nasty and highly addictive drug, Nicotine also causes blood pressure to rise and may cause heart attacks.4500-5000 people died in NZ from smoking.


Teenagers smoke because they want to look cool or because their friends are doing it. Sometimes they are influenced by their family. When people smoke often sometimes they get stressed or angry because the body wants more nicotine. This is because nicotine is addictive.

So my message to you is don’t start smoking.

Silver for Valerie Adams

Valerie Adams won silver in the London Olympics women's shot put, beaten by a stunning series of throws by her great rival Nadzeya.
Adam’s silver medal throw was 20.70m, while the gold medal throw was 21.36m. Adam could only manage 20.70. Adam was looking the first person to successfully to defend the women's shot put title since Tamara Press in 1964. Adams was really upset,her goal was to get gold.

My brothers and sisters are Grace,Gerico,Me,

In the weekends I go to my nans to go and see my
sister Grace cause she lives my nan.
My brother toks he is the youngest he is 3 he has Cancer,
sometimes he goes to the hospital to go for a check up to make sure
he’s allright.

Precious Mckenzie.

South Africa has a hero who remains unsung in his country of birth. Precious Mckenzie had to overcome numerous trials during his lifetime to become the sportsman who some herald as one of the all-time greats. Despite enduring incredible hardships, he is known by all who cross his path as an endearing person, for his humble dignity and lack of bitterness. The diminutive weightlifter continues to be an inspiring role-model, years after his retirement.

Precious Mckenzie was born in the Red Cross Hospital, Durban, in 1936. At the age of three he was hospitalised with complications due to fever, and his remaining chest condition was pronounced incurable. His mother Christina celebrated his survival by baptizing him Precious One. The same year another tragedy traumatized the McKenzie family when father and breadwinner Joseph was killed by a crocodile in the Limpopo river. As a result his mother started to drink heavily, soon having to give up her children for foster care. Precious and his sister then became victims of witch-like foster mothers and suffered such injuries and malnutrition as to stunt their physical growth - both grew no taller than 4ft10”. Of his mother Precious says:
“She was a woman who treated us so badly, she was the real devil…but my sister and I have forgiven her. No matter who it is, you have to forgive eventually.”

Precious’s athletic ability was first recognised at age 11 in Pofadder, at a Catholic mission where a Father Franklin encouraged and trained him in gymnastics. He returned to his mother in Pietermaritzburg at age 17 and worked in a local shoe factory, soon proving to be a stand-out employee and popular co-worker. But Precious’ ambition was to work in a circus. He laboured at this dream in Steve’s Gym, working out at 5:30 every morning, but the dream was thwarted when he had to hear from the travelling circus that his skin colour was wrong. Fortunately Kevin Stent,

trainer and coach at Steve’s Gym, encouraged him to try weightlifting and he took to the sport with a natural flair that rapidly brought him accolades – in 1958 he won the Natal Bantamweight weightlifting-title.
So thats how he is a very fomouse New Zealand bantamweight lifter.

Matisse Picasso

Mattise and Picasso were both living in the same era. They are two of the world’s most famous artists. Picasso is a very unusual artist who has tried painting many different styles. Henri Matisse’s are more realistic.They both have a painting that includes the same subject, a potrait of a women. PIcaso’s painting is called, ‘The Weeping Women’.  Henry matises is called The Women with a hat. It shows a lady sufferring from the spanish of the other famouse artis.civil war.  

The theme is about the weeping woman witch Pablo Picasso drew.
And the other theme is about the woman with the hat witch Henri Matisse.

Henri Matisse was born on December 31, 1869 in Le Cateau-Cambresis In northern france. his parents owns a genaral store where they sold household goods and seeds. Henri matisse was their first son. When Henri Matisse was a young man, he traveled to paris to study law. When he was 21 yrs old his mother gave him a paint box. In 1891 Matisse traveled to paris to study art academie julian. His first teacher told him that he would never learn to draw. In 1954, at the age of 84, Matisse died a recognized leader in modern art. He was later praised as a supporter of the classical tradition in french painting. In the 1840’s Matisse began creating paper collages.


Palbo PIcaso was born in Malaga, Spain on 25 October 1887. In 1900 Picasso made his first trip to paris. At the time Paris was considered to be the art capital of Europe.  While in Paris Picasso's work began to attract the attention of art collectors. It was through when he meet an french artist Henri Matisse. The two became life longing Friends. He also became a printer a painter and drawer.

Kiwi Kick!!!

As we were walking to the courts I could she trees moving and the leaves falling. My teeth was chatering and I shirvered my fingers felt numb so I rubbed them together briskly. “ I hope kiwi kick is going to be fun”. I said to my friend hopefully. Every Thursday Rm 20 has Sam and Anita here to teach us some kiwi kick skills.

Sam teached us how to do the pirate arm, Hand pass, chest pass, specky, and the drop punt. We learned alot from Sam. The other one was Anita she was the one that let us play games with her. We played octapus, and the one that you need to hand pass the ball and try and hit it on the teachers, and if you are in you have to hand pass to the kids that get pass its like octapus.

When Anita blew the whisel we came to sam and sat down, he showed us a litlle tip for handpass, he told us to pretend that you have a plate in your hand, only on one hand, and the other hand you pretend that you have a Ice-cream. Then you swing the hand that has a ice cream in it. You will hit the plate and that will go to the other person. After that we all standed up then we had to choose a person, i coose Sesalina both of us tryed very well.

Yr 7 & 8 Camp.

Oh my gosh the warriors are here!!!!!!! Most of the boys were Yelling "Go Warriors" I ran fast as I could to go down the stairs by the slide I ran down in the pool it was Cold. I swam by the warriors. And now the Boys are calling " Kevin Lock" and he was like I Can't swim cause I don't have any change.

When they got out of the pool I was like oh man they only had a little swim in the water. they went out and went to go and get Change. When they went out I went out and went into the diving pool when I went on the board it was high then I just said in my mind that I'm not scared of jumping off. so I climbed up I looked down and it was high so ran and JUMPED off the board.

I had butterfly's I SPLASHED in the water I went down in the water it was DEEP AS.

After that I got up wiped my face as fast as I could and went to go and swam to the ladder and I got up from the ladder and I was like that was cool so I walked to the line and waited in line.

After that it got to long so I went out and went into the pool I was like whoa this is shallow so i went all the way down of the bottom of the pool I opened my eyes in the water and it wasn't sore so i sore every body swimming in the water i saw somebody legs.

Not long ago I saw the diving board has gone to the bigger board I went to go in line and Mele said " to me come in front of me cause I want you to go first"

So I went in front of her. It was my turn so I went up the water. After that I kicked my leg so I can go up to the surface. I looked where I was swimming so I opened my eyes and swam to the ladder and the teacher and the life guard told me to go out because some people might jump and might hit me while I'm in the water. so I swam as fast as I could I climbed up the ladder and went in line again. It got to boring so I went out and went in to the slide. I went up the stairs and the slide was full. The water stoped on the slide of us had so all of us had to go back down the stairs. After that we had lunch.

Too often these days teenage people have been putting bad language and inappropriate photos online. Some people have been spreading rumours about other people. It is important that you learn to be cyber smart.

When you want a job your employers will go online and look for your footprint and if they find it a negative footprint you will not get the job. Rumors will send all the bad language too most of his friends and they will send it to everybody and another person will get and they will find out that they are talking about them. And that's why they suaside them selfs. SO YOU SHOULD THINK BEFORE YOU POST!!!!

Beach

I was Walking down the beach I started to
shirver and get goose bumbs. with no towel i had purple lips and My teeth were chatering.the wind blew at me as i was walking down the beach. I Wrapped my self with a warm blanket. After that All my brothers and sisters were cold too.
